The One About Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving has always been one of my favorite holidays. It is definitely the best food holiday (I love everything!), and I'm grateful for a day to reflect on all the amazing things in my life. This year, though, I'm especially excited about Thanksgiving because life in the SC household hasn't been easy recently (more on that later), and I've struggled to find reason to give thanks on a daily basis. You might think that given these circumstances, I would resent a holiday that essentially forces me to be thankful. But I'm thankful for this day to reflect, and as Thanksgiving approaches, I'm reminded that in spite of all the hardships, I truly am blessed, and I still have so much to be thankful for.

I am thankful for this crazy man, who makes my life sweeter every day.

I am thankful that we got married this year and had the most incredible wedding ever.

I am thankful for my family, both old and new.

I am thankful for dear friends.

I am thankful that Mr. SC and I graduated from Columbia this year, and I am thankful for the life we had in New York.

And I am even more thankful to be back in my home state of California.

I am thankful for hope in spite of hardship and a God I can still trust in my most difficult days. I am thankful that as I face an unknown future, Mr. SC is always by my side, loving and supporting me and bringing joy into my life.

Happy Thanksgiving! What are you thankful for this year?

  2. That is a very sweet post! I'm so thankful for my friends, family and of course my husband. Times aren't always easy, but knowing that we have each other for support will help get us through.
